ABOUT ERIN
Erin Mulvey is the co-founder and producer of Trinity Films NYC LLC, an independent documentary production company she launched with veteran journalist and filmmaker Mary Murphy. Together, the two built the company from the ground up and have led every aspect of development and production for their inaugural documentary project.
In her role as producer, Erin manages the operational and production framework behind the film, including fundraising, budgeting, production planning, research, archival sourcing, rights clearances and licensing, scheduling, and production logistics. She has also expanded into field production, capturing both photography and documentary-quality video.
Her work at Trinity Films focuses on helping bring powerful real-life stories to the screen through careful research, strong production infrastructure and hard work; traits that Trinity Films NYC rely on to bring authenticity to their documentary storytelling.
Prior to entering film production, Erin served nearly 26 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in New York, including two decades as the spokesperson for the largest DEA division in the world.
Her work involved coordinating high-profile communications surrounding major international investigations and law enforcement operations. Erin spearheaded extensive media coverage of landmark cases, including the arrest of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the billionaire leader of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico; the indictment of the former President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández; and the capture of international arms dealer Viktor Bout.
Erin has also been instrumental in shaping public awareness of national security and public safety issues. She played a key role in campaigns like DEA’s National Pill Take Back Initiative, and One Pill Can Kill, which highlight the dangers of drug poisonings, particularly opioids and fentanyl.
A ‘Line of Duty’ survivor, Erin lost her husband, an NYPD detective, to a 9/11-related illness. Her work reflects a commitment to telling meaningful stories about public service, resilience, and sacrifice.
